Finally, I can announce that the script issues facing FreeAdReport.com have been resolved, thank to the great work from Frank Bauer in Australia.

You’ll now find that your referrals will be able to access their membership, and we can now begin the run up to the release of Version 2 of FreeAdReport.

I’m currently enjoying my Spring Break by patching up the loose ends here at FreeAdReport, and adding more content to SquidooSecrets.  I have a lot in store for you coming soon, and your patience will be rewarded! 

Other than having the videos downloadable (and more of them, of course), what other suggestions do you have for the site to make FreeAdReport your favorite resource for advertising?

This is my favorite weekend of the year.

In addition to the fun of Halloween parties, the best part of this weekend is the extra hour of sleep that we get because of the switch early Sunday morning.

What will you do with your extra hour this weekend?

I’m going to hang out with some friends that I haven’t seen in a while (along with some school teachers — we do have lives outside of the classroom now and then!). The party has a theme of mortal or immortal Greeks, so evidently there will likely be a lot of togas.

My original idea was going as Archimedes. I would dress in a bathrobe, with the words EUREKA written on the back, along with the equation D=M/V (the density equation).

In case that doesn’t make too much sense, remember Archimedes is the one who supposedly figured out how buoyancy could be used to determine the density of a metal, thus proving (or disproving) something was gold. When he sat in his bathtub, he figured his body density must be the same as the displaced water, then shouted Eureka!

Alas, I never made it to the store for a bathrobe. So instead, I’m going as a Spongebob fanatic. I’ll pass it off as an immortal GEEK instead, and plead with the hosts that I misunderstood what the theme was. Hope it works.

In any case, I hope you have a great time this weekend with your extra hour. And if you don’t have plans, I encourage you to revisit the Ask the Experts calls I’ve had the past few weeks, as they have been helpful to a ton of people, especially the first one with Dan Kelly.

Hi Linda,
Actually, I’m a reseller with GoDaddy as well, but I only use them and promote them for domain registrations (www.youdomain.com).  There are a few reasons why I think people starting out should be with HostGator.

First, every time one of my customers goes to www.shylar.com (my reseller account with GoDaddy), they are offered way too many confusing choices, and when they go to buy, GoDaddy hits them with 15 different upsells that I find unnecessary, confusing, and frustrating.  Unless you see the quick checkout button, you have to wade through all that.  Plus, they try to sell extra email accounts when that comes with the hosting.

Second the control panel to work behind the scenes is more complicated.

Third, they sell one hosting account per domain name, and one domain name per hosting account.

Hostgator lets you have as many domains on the same hosting account as you would like.  GoDaddy does give you a ton of space, but you hardly ever use it all for one site.  So with HostGator, you can use the same space on one hosting account, but spread it out over as many domains as you want.

As we had a call with Dan Kelly, the idea of Mini Websites is to have single topic, focused sites.  They don’t need 1 gb of space each, but probably 30 megs.  So you can get 50 different websites on one account (if they are really small). 

So instead of paying $6.99/month at GoDaddy for hosting on every single domain (which adds up quickly!), you can pay $9.95/month at HostGator and have 40 or 75 websites total (if you want - I don’t recommend that of course). 

So that’s why I choose HostGator for hosting. 

By the way, I’m also a big fan of Kiosk.  However, they are for a particular style of website, with features that most people don’t really need when they are starting out, and they are just a bit more expensive.  When you need high level dedicated servers and are full time with internet marketing, Kiosk is the way to go.  I have my most important sites with Kiosk that get traffic, and I’m using HostGator for my smaller sites and blogs.
